A Time To Kill!

Directed by Joel Schumacher. Screenplay by Akiva Goldsman.

Based on the Novel by  John Grisham, A Time to Kill is a powerful and emotional story about a small town in Mississippi where black men and women are still seen through racist eyes by many.

A story of a black father tried for the murder of two men who raped his 10 year old daughter, a fearless young lawyer taking on a prejudiced courtroom and the hateful revenge from the Ku Klux Klan.

For a girl who doesn’t usually cry at movies, this one had me in tears by the end. I wouldn’t say its a sad movie but yes, it has moments where you want to yell at the screen and say “Why do people still think this way”, but unfortunately thats the way the world is, there are people who still see colour before anything.

Matthew McConaughey’s performance of the defence is definatly his strongest in this, you can see the struggle and pain in his face of trying to compel the jury to see past the fathers (Samual L Jackson) colour and try and convince them that what he did was what any father would do if someone hurt there child in such a brutal way.
